Now Open

Glassfull is open for u all now. The place is up and running. Its beaming with confidence. The place is smiling at all the pass byers and that’s y everyone is interested and curious to know what glassful is all about. The place looks hap and happening with all the modern lighting we have done. The ambience is made ultra exciting with the latesht engleesh songs playing all the time. The place is too cool, thanks to two big ACs we have installed. Its funky, if u talk about the backdrop of the place. And its rocking when it comes to our menu.

We have launched the business in various phases.
Phase 1: Friends and family, this was a small function attainded by friends and family. The objective was to launch the place on stipulated date and meet the mahurat deadlines
How we felt: hmmm good, they love the drinks clients will love it too

Phase 2: Friends and their friends, this was a testing phase. Actually though we were ready we were not very ready to serve customers (after all we want to give u the very best only). During this phase people were invited to come and test our drinks and snacks. The response thankfully was good
How we felt: Have fun, next time u better pay for whatever u have ;)

Phase 3: Silent and hot walk ins: we did not create any noise when we started, this was because ours being a new building the power supply was not enough to run AC. So we hired a couple of air coolers (we are not kidding) and pedal fans to cool up the place and started the show.
How we felt: Hey bhagwan ye power kab ayega?

Phase 4: AC is on, food is good but we are still silent.
How we felt: Finally!!!

Phase 5: we will unleash it only on Coming Sat. Keep an eye on us.

Here we are
we've just begun And after all this time
our time has come Ya here we are
still goin' strong Right here in the place where we belong

no subject no pic

Ud and I have been having this thought for some days now. How can a banker and an engineer set up an eatery without any prior knowledge of food business? We did not know what kindda location will click (well we still don’t). We dint know what kindda equipments are needed, who will be our chef, where will we get the ingredients from, and blah blah blah. When on topic we agreed (Wow moment, to agree with ur partner) that it was nothing but sheer perseverance and will that has taken us to this stage.

F&^# it we are still very confused… we are still keeping our fingers crossed… we are still at the mercy of the people who are working on our baby project… we are still uncertain about the price points… we are still the same ignorant, non-knowledgeable kids who have decided to flow with the water and get into the great hospitality services business. We are still waiting to see curtains opening on the D day and see how our guests feel.

We have not been able to blog for some time, coz there was no sexy thing happening on the business.

But soon there would be first pics of the venture.

Till than be with us and spread the word.

When I was a child I had a fever.
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I got that feeling once again.
I cant explain, you would not understand.
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.

Rythm Blues!

Neither is it the new punchline nor is it the new name coined for our outlet... It is just the nervousness catching on us(rather me)... With work in full swing now(carpenters have made their base at our location) and talks for appointment of staff and cooks towards their final stages.. Work has got its RYTHM now.. Whats giving us the BLUES is the acceptability of this concept to Amdavadi crowds... We have many thoughts and fundas.. How many of them can be converted to reality?? Best location, one of the best designers, poaching staff from the best restaurants...

Ziddi

Yes it is frustrating, yes it is taxing, yes it is tiring and difficult. People management is the toughest part of any work. It may sound sexy like in mba books but its not as easy as it seems. Specially when people you have to get work done are a carpenter who is working on 50 other projects at the same time, the interior designer who is not bothered about money, the ironsmith who has not delivered anything on time and ur shop shutter is just one addition to it.

Probably that’s why they say starting a business is not an easy task. That’s why starting a restaurant is not as easy as it looks. That’s why businesspeople are task masters. That’s y they are classified as ruthless. That’s y we are determined like never before to start our business on the predetermined date. And that’s why we are charged up like never before.

Ziddi hum b yahan.

Men at work

We have been unusually silent for sometime now. We had to be, after all it takes a lot to build the most happening juice bar in town. So bear with our silence, and keep putting ur comments we promise to revert on each and every comment.

The update as of now is:
G
eneral Civil work is over
Last interior designs have come up. They are fantastic and Ahmedabad is surely gonna love it.
Already work on interiors has started, its gonna take another fifteen days before we can use it.
Simultaneously the menu design and item finalization is happening.
Slogan and logo are still a tricky part, yes we are being nosy and are very particular about every detail.
Freaking out on staffing, apart from the bartender nothing is finalised should get over on this weekend
U'LL get to see IPL matches on a fancy LCDTV along with the mocktails and exotic combination juices.
